The Ice Photo 25

(January 25th)

We did get our Ice...

As the storm was coming the county was getting worried, ice, lots  of ice.  They decided that it was probably going to hit us bad and they did not want any buses on the roads when it did so they changed the 3 hour early release to a 4 hour one and it was a rush to get kids through cafeteria line and on to home.  How did we hear our kids were getting out an extra hour before what they announced the day before?  In my case my 14 year old son, Jesse, texted me and said they are already being released!!!
WHAT!!!!

I was across town going to the one store I need to go before the storm hit to complete a project due that night (which got cancelled and rescuduled to the next day).  As luck had it my other son had a doctor's appointment that morning and it started when the the older one was going to get out with the 3 hour early release and so I asked my husband to please, please see about working from home so he could pick up Jesse.  So a quick call to him and Jesse got pick up easy right!  Lol!  If only!  My hubby calls and asked if I was sure because there were no cars in the school parking lot picking up kids!  I told him I did not care to play this game just go into the office and have our son pulled and take him home.  So he went to the front office and he text me.  "It is a zoo in here.  A ton of kids are in here calling their parents to pick them up."  Yep!  Thats right no one new that their kids need to be picked up an hour earlier!!!  Thank God My Boy Has A Cell Phone!!!!

So after I was done at the store I decided that this early release crap was a mess and I was going to go ahead and pick up my other 2 kids now do the doctor's appointment and go home.  And boy that poor elementary school was trying to keep it together but I was not the only one with this idea and my 10 year, Cole, the one with the appointment, was testing.  Hahaha!!!  Could the day get any better!  As luck had it he had finished his test right before I pulled him and his sister (plus one friend's kid who was unable to pick him up, I dropped him off at his home before the doc. apt.).

On our way to the doc. apt. we saw snow flakes but by the time we got there it had turned mostly into icy rain.  The doc. office was busy, they wanted to close early and was trying to fit in as many apt. as they could before they did.  Add new insurance card so forms to fill, long wait in the waiting, in the hall outside the patient's room, than in the tiny patient's room.  We were not happy campers, good thing I really like this doctor!  And we had a window to watch the little pieces ice bouncing off the road, plants, and of corse the window.

Over all not a fun day for me!  I was so happy when I finally got home with my kids safe and sound.  The whole family was home and we were ready for what this ice storm was going to throw at us.  (Well maybe not a power outage but thankfully that did not happen!)
Even with them closing schools early there still was a bus accident  one town over with 22 elementary school kids on it!  Thank goodness there were no major injuries!  Another bus was in an accident but luckily it did not have any children on it.

I hope everyone is safe and sound this winter!

A Diary of a Whiny Mom!

So again I am going to do: "A Diary Of A Whiny Mom!"
(we so love the 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' books and movies)

Today it is about how LONG and HOT the summer has been! School is around the corner and the boys are not getting any better! Most day have been supper hot so they can't spend a lot of time out there and they are the ages that they don't want to do the same things any more... the older want to be on the computer the younger one wants to play with toys still, and so on!

We have been to a pool here and a pool there (a lot more than last year) but nothing consistent like when we lived in the apartment 4/5 years ago. We have had some friends over and been over to friends houses. Lila did a couple of camps, the boys did not want to do any camps!

But all I hear most days at any given time is.....
"Mom, Jesse won't play with me! Make him play with me!"
"Mom, Cole won't leave me alone! Make him go away!"
"Mom, Jesse won't go outside with me..."
"Mom, Cole's on my side..."
&
"It's my turn first!"
"You promised to play another game with me!"
"He hit me!"
"Hey that's Mine!"

And it seem to be all day these days! And it is making me a little crazy!
Ok... A LOT OF CRAZY!!!

Is it to late to sign them up for YEAR ROUND SCHOOL? Because I CAN NOT take another summer like this! Something has got to give!!!!

~So sign them up for camp!
You can't make them if the don't want to go,
plus we don't have the $ to do it all the time!

~Take them out!
They fight even when we take them out,
so much so I don't want to go any where with them!
Plus the HEAT, Plus the $...

~Put them to work!
They do have chores.
Some they get payed for and some that they don't.

I am sooo glad school starts next week! I have a whole school year to figure out what I am going to do next year! I am praying for a good school year!

But if something does not give I may be running away come May 2012!

Sorry I just need to get it out,
Thank you for listening (I mean reading) my whiny self!
Any suggestions for next summer?

(And aways what I am searching for:)

Diary of a Wimpy Complaining Mom!!!!

Complaining Session!!!
So I'm NOT complaining at my hubby again and since no one reads my blog I am going to use it tonight as my "Diary of a Wimpy Complaining Mommy!" So here it goes....

We rent our place b/c it is cheap and in the area we want to be, it is a cute town little town house, middle unit. But it is old and has problems, lots of them and once one get fix it seems like there is another one! The AC unit, dish washer, water leaking from the unit on the left then the one on the right, leaky sinks, leaky tubs..... and so on and so on!!! Now it is the shower in the kids bath room, you turn the nob so the water will go up to the shower and NOTHING!!! Now I am no expert but if the water is on and it is not coming out the bottom or the top were is it going AND THAT CAN'T BE GOOD!!!! So now we need to call the land lord to come and take a look at it but he sometimes take forever to fix some thing like the leaky faucet and he has not been able to fix the dish washer that will run all night if you don't baby sit it!!! In the mean time I am currently sick (head and body aches, throat is itchy, tired, but no fever) for the second time (felt fine last week but was like this the one before!). So every one is using the shower in my bath room =( Which is fine for a day or 2 but it is helpful to be able to bathe the 3 yr. old while one of the boys is shower in their bath room!

Another thing to complain about is that I am soooooooo TIRED!!!! I am not doing a very good job of keeping the house clean, I feel like I am living in the van dropping off and pick up all 3 kids, I am having nightmares, and I am very stressed out!!!! I thought (silly me) that once all 3 kids went to school I could get it together have the house clean every day, walk the dog (which would give me the exercise I need to lose those pesky 10 lb that are bothering me), volunteer at the schools, and still have free time to read a book or scrapbook or something for me!!! But no I was in a dream!!! I have 3 kids at 3 different school going at 3 different time to drop them off and then picking them up at 3 different times so I spend a lot of time going back and forth, to and from!!!!!!!!

And a lot of my energy is spent fighting w/ my 8 yr. old to do the simple thing he is suppose to do on his own like starting his homework, getting ready for school, getting in the shower, reading before bed time!!! Everything w/ him is a battle and it is waring me down!!! So while I have 3 very short hours (more like 2 and half b/c I have to drive home and and drive back) 3 days a week while Lila is at school, I usually spend them on the couch w/ the tv so I can relax and breath for a couple minutes and watch someone else problems on a show or 2! Yes I am very productive!!!! Very wise w/ my time!!!

Well it is time to battle the bed time w/ the said 8 yr. old, WISH ME LUCK, even though I know I will win (I always do b/c we all need sleep even him!!!)!!!

(So am trying to get there!!!)
